This Privacy Policy explains how DPC Inc(“we”, “us”), the operator of The Drunken Inn (the “Service”), collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google.
- Billing information. Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details — Stripe does. We store a Stripe customer/subscription identifier and your subscription status and renewal date.
- Gameplay data. Your characters and saved games. Saves are stored in your browser; if you are signed in, one save slot is also synced to our database so it follows you across devices.
- Gameplay inputs. The text you type and the in-game actions you take are sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate narration and voice. Do not enter sensitive personal information into gameplay prompts.
- Technical data. Standard server logs and your IP address, used transiently for security and rate-limiting (to prevent abuse of our paid AI endpoints).
How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service (accounts, saves, gameplay).
- To process subscriptions and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To generate AI narration and voiced audio in response to your gameplay.
- To secure the Service and enforce usage limits.
- To communicate with you about your account or the Service when necessary.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Service providers (sub-processors)
We share data with the following providers only as needed to run the Service. Each processes data under its own privacy terms:
- Supabase — authentication, database (accounts, saves, subscription status).
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- OpenAI — AI text narration and text-to-speech. Receives your gameplay inputs and game state.
- Vercel — application hosting and delivery.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google (OAuth).
These providers may process and store data outside Australia, including in the United States, under their own privacy terms and applicable data-transfer safeguards.
Cookies and local storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in (your authentication session) and your browser’s local storage to hold your game saves and settings. These are necessary for the Service to function; we do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Data retention
We keep your account and related data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your account record, saved games, and subscription record are deleted. Billing records held by Stripe and information in backups or logs may persist for a limited period as required for legal, accounting, or security purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at thedrunkeninndnd@gmail.com. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect your data with measures such as encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database access controls that scope each record to its owner. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you of material changes.
